Nihombashi

The Mitsukoshi store opened in 1904 as Japan’s first department store. The lion statue erected in 1914 in front of the entrance to the main store still stands today in front of the main entrance as a symbol of Mitsukoshi. Together with the new store, the main store deals in high-quality merchandise.
