Shiromaru Dam
Shiromaru Dam is in Okutama town, Nishitama-gun, Tokyo.
It was built to regulate the flow of the Tama River and to send water for power generation to Tamagawa Power Plant No.3 located down-river.
The dam releases a certain amount of water to maintain the river functionalities of the Tama River and for sightseeing purposes.
Water used to be released from the gate of Shiromaru Reservoir Dam, but for the efficient use of this water, the Shiromaru Power Plant was built in 2000.
