Adachi Fireworks Festival

Watch this stunning fireworks display from the banks of the Arakawa River

Heralding the arrival of the fireworks season in Tokyo, this display is held on the Arakawa River. This year will see over 1,000 more fireworks launched than in ordinary years, a display packed into just one hour for spectators can enjoy. For the first time ever, this year's display will feature the Double Niagara—a must-see. For seating, we recommend a spot on the broad river bank on the Nishiarai (northern) side after exiting Ogi-ohashi Station.

Sumida River Fireworks Festival

Fireworks shower the night sky over Asakusa in a kaleidoscope of colors

The big, spectacular fireworks are launched from both the No. 1 site (downstream of Sakura Bridge - upstream of Kototoi Bridge) and the No. 2 site (downstream of Komagata Bridge - upstream of Umaya Bridge). This is a traditional fireworks display that originated in the Ryogoku River Opening Fireworks Display held in the Edo period. It includes a fireworks contest in which pyrotechnicians vie with each other in a show of skills.

Watch a huge array of fireworks from the spacious riverside area

This fireworks display is held jointly by Edogawa Ward and Ichikawa City. The program consists of eight parts, including the "Dazzling! Edogawa Dream Hanabi!" and "Swift as Lightning - Like a Gale," which is a wild, free-for-all fireworks battle. You can stretch out on the expansive river bank and relax while watching the show.

Itabashi Fireworks Festival

A dream-team of 10 pyrotechnicians delivers an awe-inspiring display

This fireworks display is held jointly with the city of Toda, on the other side of the Arakawa River. It showcases the skills of ten of the very best pyrotechnicians in all of Japan, and features an array of fireworks that wow the crowd, such as the Big Niagara Falls with a total length of 700 meters and the "1 Shaku 5 Sun-dama," the biggest fireworks rocket in Tokyo. The comfort of the riverbank for sitting and its proximity to where the fireworks are launched are also a big part of this event's appeal.

Jingugaien Fireworks Festival

A powerful fireworks display to enjoy at the stadium

This is a charity fireworks display held to support recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Kumamoto Earthquake. The fireworks are launched from the Jingu Secondary Stadium, and can be viewed from Jingu Stadium, Jingu Rubber-ball Baseball Ground, and Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium. Viewers at the Jingu Stadium and Jingu Rubber-ball Baseball Ground can also enjoy live performances by popular musicians.
