Gleaming Tokyo Tower, from the vicinity of Akabanebashi

From the Akabanebashi area, you can take photos, from the street, of the lit-up Tokyo Tower. At present, there are ordinarily two types of illumination. A special pink-colored illumination is used on nights with a full moon.

Pointers for taking great photos The Diamond Veil illumination is basically turned on only for two hours, from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., on Saturdays. Be sure to check the illumination schedule first.

The twinkling nightscape view around Kohoku Junction and Goshiki Zakura Big Bridge

Kohoku Junction is reputed to be one of the most beautiful spots on the Shuto Expressway for nighttime scenery. Try taking photos of the illuminated Goshiki Zakura Big Bridge over the Arakawa River and the streaks of light from car headlights and taillights on the Junction.

Pointers for taking great photos Choose a day without wind to get good photos of the reflection of the bridge on the surface of the river. (Flash will only spoil the shot.)

Distinctive art works on Roppongi Tunnel

The art on the walls was made as part of the Tokyo Street Painting Project. "Zipper," one of the five works, has a great sense of fun.

Pointers for taking great photos Photograph either in the morning or at night. In the afternoon, the incident rays of sunlight make the paintings harder to see.
