Visit a photogenic Italian-style area in Shiodome!

Shiodome Sio-Site is an Italian-style area in the western part of Zone 5. Around a plaza paved with stones is an assortment of colorful buildings, with cafes and bars located here and there. On cool afternoons, people can be seen reading books on benches there. At night, the area is illuminated and has a magical feel.

Holy Resurrection Cathedral,Tokyo(Nikolai-Do)

An eye-catching dome crowned with a cross

This Byzantine-style church was established in 1891 by St. Nicholas, a Russian missionary who came to Japan to spread the Orthodox faith. Destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake, it was rebuilt and designated a national important cultural property in 1962.

Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum,Tokyo

An oasis of Britishness in the Marunouchi district

Located on the grounds of the Marunouchi BRICK SQUARE, the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum is housed in the restored Mitsubishi Ichigokan, originally built in 1894. The restoration was based on the design by the British architect Josiah Conder, and the café-bar in the building share the same classic British atmosphere.

Minami Ikebukuro Park

A popular park with expansive lawns for freewheeling relaxation

The park is an urban oasis on a site redeveloped in 2016. The expansive lawn puts visitors in the picnic mood, just as if they were in Central Park, New York. On the grounds there is also a café-restaurant that offers take-out service, too.

Toneri-Park

A park with lush greenery reminiscent of Scandinavian forests

Walking down the promenade lined with conifers, visitors come upon several open spaces and ponds. The big pond in the park has wild cattails and reeds, and is home to birds and fish. With its thick stands of trees, the park is also perfect for therapeutic strolls through woods and birdwatching.

Institut français du Japon- Tokyo

Tokyo's "Petite France" area showcasing French culture

The Institut is an official language school and cultural center of the French government. The facilities here include a movie theater, mediatheque (library) for reading and viewing materials free of charge, a café, and La Brasserie, a French-style restaurant. These facilities can be used freely by anyone. Enjoy lunch here, and maybe spend the rest of the day taking in the French atmosphere.
