Many gardens and parks along Toei Transportation lines boast beautiful autumn colors. Take some time in autumn for visits to admire their colors!
This park was designed by Dr. Seiroku Honda, known as the "Father of Parks." Opened in 1903, it was the first Western-style park in Japan. Autumn beautifully turns the colors of the leaves on the gingko trees lining the path, which retains the look of the days when the park first opened, and on the maple trees around the pond with its fountain topped by a statue of a crane.

This strolling garden with pond was built in the mid-Edo period and stands on the grounds of what, at the end of that period, was the mansion of the Hosokawa Clan from Kumamoto. Its design accents the changes of terrain and natural setting, and the scarlet leaves of maple trees here and there are striking. The illumination event, for a limited period only, makes the autumn colors even more enchanting.
