Japan's first modern water reclamation center offers the magnificent view of a red brick pumping station together with with cherry blossoms along the Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa) Line. A Sakura Viewing Session is held on March 29 (Fri.) and 30 (Sat.).

Cherry trees line the Shakujii Riverside Promenade, stretching from Otonashi Shinsui Park, tracing the route of the former Shakujiigawa River, to the Naka Itabashi neighborhood. Enjoy a leisurely hour-long stroll enveloped in cherry blossoms.

The boulevard lined with 77 Somei Yoshino profusely blossoming cherry trees is illuminated by lanterns in the blossom viewing season. The Minami Otsuka Sakura Festival takes place on March 29 (Fri.) and 30 (Sat.).

Somei Yoshino cherry trees blanket the banks of the Kanda River for about a 2-kilometer stretch between Edogawa Park and Takadanobaba. This is a photogenic spot visible from the Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line).

The banks of the Sumidagawa River are a cherry blossom viewing spot with a history. The eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune, enamored of the blossom both sides of the river, opened them so that commoners could enjoy it too. From late March to early April, the Taito Ward side hosts a Sumida Park Sakura Festival, and the Sumida Ward side a Bokutei Sakura Festival.

The weeping cherry tree that is a symbol of Rikugien Garden is past the Naitei Daimon Gate on the way to the park's center. In late March, the pale pink blossoms covering every inch of the branches is a wonder to behold. Don't miss the bewitching sight of the tree illuminated at night, for a limited period only.

This is Tokyo's largest park with water features, and has a 900-meter-long path lined with cherry trees. Take in the view strolling through the tunnel formed by some 350 Kanhi-zakura and Somei Yoshino cherry trees. Each year from about mid March to early April, lanterns are lit for the pleasure of yozakura, or cherry blossom viewing at night.

Some 140 cherry trees of the Somei Yoshino, Yamazakura, and Satozakura varieties grow around the Maruyama Kofun Burial Mound and Benten Ike Pond in this big, circular park. Crowds gather to see the trees in full bloom, and take in the must-see sight of Tokyo Tower beyond the blossoms.

The park is home to a thousand cherry trees including the "Reagan cherry tree" gifted by former First Lady Nancy Reagan. The lawned Ohanami Square is perfect for blossom viewing. The Senbonzakura Festival takes place 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. on April 6 (Sat.) and 7 (Sun.).
