Honoring these kites is believed to bring protection from fire, good health, and business success, making the event popular with many.

The "Setsubun Tsuina Ceremony," held on February 3 (Tuesday), is a traditional event to drive away misfortune and evil. At Nishiarai-daishi Temple, a Daruma memorial service will be held on the morning of February 3 (Tuesday), followed by the Setsubun Festival in the afternoon. The Daruma memorial service features the burning of tens of thousands of Daruma dolls that have completed their purpose, and is an impressive spectacle. At the Setsubun Festival, beans are thrown from a special platform in the front of the main hall.

Suitengu Shrine has long been revered as a deity of safe childbirth and child blessings. This shrine is also famous for its "Inu no Hi" prayer rituals, which are held on the Day of the Dog to pray for safe childbirth.
