Toden Omoide Hiroba (Toden Memorial Square)

You'll see some of the famous cars of the past

Precious antique railcars that were in active use from 1955 to 1965 during the heyday of Toden are exhibited in an open space resembling a tram stop. These two railcars are the unique "PCC car" (pictured on the left), which features a streamlined body, and the "Gakuen-go (school tram)" (pictured on the right), which was in active use for commuting to and from school. In the railcars, you can sit in a mock cab or view nostalgic photos of Toden.

Old Shimbashi Station Railway History Exhibition Hall

Beautiful old station building standing in the valley between buildings

Opened in 1872, the station building of Japan's first railway terminal at Shimbashi is reproduced in the same location as it was when it was opened. In the exhibition room, visitors can see planned railway-themed exhibitions and footage of stations from previous years. They can also visit the remains of buildings and excavations. The "Mile Marker Zero,” the starting point for railway construction, has been saved outside the station building.

Classic spot for small children who are railroad fans
