Tokyo Mizube Cruising Line (Ryogoku Rivercenter Pier)

Based in Ryogoku, this regular water bus service mainly connects Asakusa, Takeshiba, and Odaiba. Enjoy the refreshing breeze as well as the dynamic scenery along the Sumida River. On certain days you can also enjoy a nighttime cruise, a world away from the everyday routine and perfect for summer evenings.

SUMIDA AQUARIUM

Unaffected by the weather, the Sumida Aquarium is characterized by displays that allow you to sense creatures breathing. The many sofas located around the aquarium let visitors view the displays unhurriedly. Every day after 17:00 until August 31, the aquarium holds a special jellyfish-viewing event called Sumida Kurage Fireworks.

Ichinoe-sakaigawa Shinsui Park

With the natural waters of the Shinnaka River flowing through it, this water park abounds with nature, providing a home for fish, insects, and aquatic plants. In addition to the Splashing Pool, a popular spot with children, you can also enjoy seasonal displays at the Ichinoe Makkotei, the former residence of the Makkoya Tazawa family, an old family of Higashi Ichinoe Village, which is adjacent to the park.

Tokyo Tower Milky Way Illuminations

Every evening until September 24, Tokyo Tower stages a Milky Way Illumination event that envelops the main deck in a world of sparkling lights. At sunset, countless stars generated by LED lightbulbs merge with the real night view, creating a fantastical scene in the sky above Tokyo.

Awesome shaved ice made proudly by hand!

Himitsudo

To make these special shaved ice treats, natural ice from Nikko is shaved using a hand-operated ice-shaver for each individual bowl, then the fluffy ice is generously topped with a fresh, homemade, additive-free syrup made from seasonal fruits. With each bowl made proudly by hand, you can also enjoy watching the preparation process up close.

A tranquil garden that makes you forget the noise of the city

Nanushinotaki Park

In addition to a large, powerful waterfall—one of only a few in Tokyo with a drop measuring 8 m—this park features Zelkova, maple, and other tree varieties growing luxuriantly, making skillful use of the slopes. Fully incorporating rich natural landscapes, this strolling garden is truly a refuge that makes you forget both the noise and heat of the city.
