5G communication will be available at Tochomae Station on the Oedo Line
The Tokyo Municipal Transportation Bureau is actively utilizing digital technology to further improve convenience for our customers.
For the first time in Japan, at Tochomae Station on the Oedo Line, with the cooperation of JTOWER Inc., a 5G environment based on the "infrastructure sharing method" in which multiple carriers use the same antenna to emit radio waves. We would like to inform you that it has been maintained inside the subway station.
First of all, NTT DoCoMo Co., Ltd.'s 5G service will start on May 21st. We also plan to start services for other telecommunications carriers as soon as the environment is ready. Through this initiative, we will accumulate know-how on whether or not there is any impact on each device at subway stations and how to install antennas, and will play a leading role in expanding the 5G environment in the future.

- This project is implemented based on the "Agreement on 5G Trial Maintenance and Verification Projects on the Tochomae Station yard on the Oedo Line" signed in August Reiwa 3rd year between the Metropolitan Transport Bureau Tokyo and JTOWER
- We will separately inform you when the services of other carriers will start.
