Greater Tokyo Pass Council
The Greater Tokyo Pass, a train/bus pass for international visitors, now offers even more savings!
Greater Tokyo Pass to Be Renewed This Summer
A new digital pass with changes to the applicable areas, sales method, and more
This summer, the Greater Tokyo Pass Council (made up of a total of 13 companies/bureaus including Kanto-area railway operators and Toei Bus) will be releasing a new Greater Tokyo Pass, which offers international visitors unlimited rides on trains, trams, and Toei buses in applicable areas. The new Greater Tokyo Pass can be purchased in advance from July 1, 2024 (Monday) and can be used from August 1 (Thursday).
The Greater Tokyo Pass will be undergoing a thorough renewal, with changes made to its design, specifications, sales method, applicable areas, and prices. After this renewal, the Greater Tokyo Pass will allow international visitors to use railways and buses with even more convenience.
Taking into account the current usage conditions, the applicable areas for regular buses will be partially revised, resulting in lower prices. However, the validity period will remain the same (five days), thus making the pass an even better bargain. Furthermore, the sales method will be changed from being stored on PASMO PASSPORT (a transportation IC card for international travelers) to being sold on the Greater Tokyo Pass official website, which is available in four languages and can be accessed from smartphones. To use the pass, users will show the digital pass on their smartphones to station staff or other crew or staff members.
Going forward, the Greater Tokyo Pass Council will continue with efforts to help international visitors enjoy their travels in the Kanto area with even more comfort and even greater savings.
Details are provided on a separate sheet.
